Stocky shuts down August 31, 2026

Stocky is leaving.
Binly takes over.

Shopify is retiring Stocky — and isn't replacing its reorder planning. Binly keeps your stocktakes, reorder and purchase orders running — and you scan with the phone you already own. The simplest, most affordable replacement, from $19/mo.

Stocky was pulled from the App Store in Feb 2026 and stops working Aug 31, 2026.

The timeline, clearly stated

Here's exactly what Shopify has communicated and what it means for your store.

1

Removed from the App Store

Stocky was delisted on February 2, 2026. It can no longer be installed by new merchants, and Shopify has stopped accepting installs.

2

Stops working August 31, 2026

On this date, Stocky's APIs are shut off entirely. Any workflow that relied on Stocky — stocktakes, reorder, purchase orders — stops functioning, even for existing users.

3

Shopify didn't replace reorder planning

Shopify absorbed basic transfers, adjustments, and purchase orders into Admin. But reorder and demand planning were left to third-party apps. That gap needs filling before August.

Heads up: Before August 31, save what you need from Stocky yourself — export your purchase orders and stocktakes to CSV. (Stocky can't export suppliers, so note those down separately.) Nothing transfers automatically once it shuts off. See our step-by-step export guide.

What Binly replaces

A direct look at what Stocky did, and how Binly handles each workflow today.

Feature Stocky did this Binly does this
Barcode stocktakes Scan products to count inventory, apply variances to Shopify. Binly Starter + Pro Scan with your phone or USB scanner, see live variance in units and dollars, and apply to Shopify in one tap.
Reorder & demand planning Sales-based reorder suggestions with stock levels. Binly Starter + Pro Days of stock remaining and suggested reorder quantities based on sales velocity, grouped by vendor.
Purchase orders Create POs, send to vendors, receive deliveries. Binly Starter + Pro Create purchase orders, email to vendors, and receive deliveries back into Shopify stock.
Barcode labels Print product labels with barcodes. Binly Starter + Pro Print labels on Dymo, Zebra, or Avery printers.
Multi-location Inventory across multiple store locations. Binly Pro Count and reorder across all your store locations.
Honest note: Stocky had some heavier tools — deep demand forecasting, landed costs, and wholesale/B2B workflows. Binly focuses on the everyday essentials most small and mid retailers actually used Stocky for — and keeps it simple and affordable. If your operation depends on those heavier tools, a more complex platform may be a better fit.

Why Binly over other Stocky alternatives

Not all inventory apps are built for independent retail. Binly is.

Simple and fast

A stocktake in minutes, not an enterprise setup. There's no implementation phase or onboarding call required — install and start counting.

Affordable — from $19/mo

No per-user fees, no module unlocks. Starter covers most independent retailers — purchase orders included. Pro adds multi-location, stock transfers and an unlimited catalog.

Scan with your phone

Use the phone already in your pocket. No dedicated scanner hardware to buy, configure, or charge. USB scanners work too, if you prefer them.

Founder-led support

Real replies from the people who built it. If something doesn't quite fit your workflow, ask — custom tweaks are welcome.

The same everyday job, a fraction of the price

Most Stocky alternatives are priced for enterprise. Binly does the essentials small retailers actually used Stocky for — for the price of a couple of coffees.

BINLY
$19 /mo

Stocktakes, purchase orders, reorder & labels.

  • Your phone is the scanner — no hardware
  • Set up in minutes, not an onboarding call
  • Built for small & mid retail
Sumtracker
$59 /mo

Multichannel sync & bundles. Heavier than most shops need.

Qoblex
$99 /mo

B2B & multi-platform. Built for bigger operations.

Inventory Planner
Premium

Deep forecasting for larger brands, at enterprise pricing.

Fair's fair: Sumtracker, Qoblex and Inventory Planner are capable tools — if you need deep demand forecasting, multichannel sync, or B2B/wholesale, they're worth a look. But if you mainly want what Stocky did every day — count, reorder, raise POs — Binly does it for a fraction of the cost, and you scan with the phone already in your pocket. (Competitor prices are their published starting tiers as of mid-2026 and may change.)

Switching is painless

Your stock levels are already in Shopify — and your Stocky purchase orders come over by CSV.

1

Install Binly

Add Binly from the Shopify App Store. It connects to your inventory immediately — no configuration wizard, no CSV uploads.

2

Import your purchase orders

Export your POs from Stocky to CSV and upload them in Binly — it matches each line to your Shopify products and creates draft purchase orders to review. (Stocky can't export suppliers, so note those down separately.)

3

Open a count and start scanning

Binly reads your live Shopify inventory directly, so your stock is already there. Start your first stocktake or reorder run immediately.

No data migration to wrestle with: Binly works off your current Shopify inventory, so you don't need to move Stocky's old data to get going. Your current stock levels are already there from day one.

Common questions

Stocky was removed from the Shopify App Store on February 2, 2026, and stops working completely on August 31, 2026 — including its APIs. Any existing Stocky users still on the platform will lose access on that date. The Shopify Admin has absorbed some basic inventory operations, but reorder and demand planning were not carried over.

Yes — your purchase orders. Export your POs from Stocky to CSV, upload them in Binly's “Import from Stocky” screen, and Binly matches each line to your Shopify products by SKU or barcode and creates draft POs for you to review. Suppliers can't be exported from Stocky (a Shopify limitation), and stocktake history isn't needed — Binly counts live against your current Shopify inventory.

It replaces the everyday essentials — stocktakes, reorder, purchase orders and barcode labels. If you need deep demand forecasting, landed costs, or wholesale/B2B workflows, a heavier tool may fit better. For most small and mid-sized retail operations, Binly covers what Stocky was actually used for day-to-day — simpler and cheaper.

No. You can scan with your phone, plug in a USB scanner, or hand-count with a keyboard. No dedicated hardware is required to get started — most stores find a phone works perfectly well for day-to-day stocktakes.

Stocky's clock is ticking.
